Wonderful dive into the aquaculture and coral restoration.

Our tour guide, Nicky, was very kind, enthusiastic, and very informative! A great tour for a variety of ages! They do a lot of great work here for the reef and you should definitely have a look!

Wow what a great experience with the help of the very informative tour guide Megan.

Certainly saw some vibrant corals that are being specially grown so as to replenish the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Well worth the visit. Small corals are also available for purchase along with other local products. When in Bundy doing the rounds head out to the Bundaberg Marina on the Burnett River to see Monsoon Aquatics Corals, certainly suitable for all ages.

What you can expect

Explore Australia’s largest coral farm just minutes from Bundaberg on a one-hour, land-based guided tour at Burnett Heads. Get up close with more than 200 coral species from around the Australian coastline, watch live coral feeding, and see reef restoration in action. It is the perfect introduction before heading out to the reef, or a standout experience on its own, with no snorkelling required and easy access for all ages and abilities.

Come face-to-face with vibrant tropical fish, including “Nemo” the clownfish, and learn how they breed in a fun and engaging way. Along the way, gain a deeper understanding of coral conservation, from how corals spawn in captivity to how they are grown and protected to support reef regeneration. Perfect for families, local explorers and visitors alike, this guided tour is an eye-opening, feel-good experience that brings the magic of the reef right to you.

It was increasingly informative finding out how the corals are farmed and shipped all over the world.

As well as learning how their program for rejuvenating the Great barrier reef is being actioned. Beautiful corals abound. Nikky, our guide is super enthusiastic about their mission and it really showed in our tour of the facility.
