What you can expect
Embark on the fluffiest 90-minute stroll you’ll ever enjoy at Blackwattle Alpaca Farm, just 45 minutes from Canberra. You’ll start by meeting the friendly llamas and alpacas before being paired with your own furry mate for a guided wander around the farm and dam. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide shares fun facts about alpaca personalities and how their beautiful fibre goes from paddock to finished product. There’s loads of time to pat, hand-feed and snap great photos with the herd.
After your walk, sit back and enjoy a relaxed morning tea with a slice of the cake of the day - the perfect treat for kids and grown-ups alike. Before heading home, pop into the farm shop to browse cosy yarns, wool, gifts and goodies. It’s an easy, feel-good outing that’ll have you smiling from ear to ear.

- The walk around is 30 minutes
- Hand-feeding session is 30 minutes
- This experience is located at Blackwattle Alpaca Farm at 315 Patemans Lane, Murrumbateman NSW 2582
- Follow the Barton Highway until you reach the Euroka Ave turn-off. Follow Euroka Ave right to the end. Take a right at the T-intersection onto Patemans Lane. The farm is located at the very end of Patemans Lane (do not take the Gooda Creek Rd turn-off). Follow the gravel driveway and park at the Farm Shop Carpark. Please park in the carpark and not on the grass as the alpacas graze on the grass
- Flat and fully enclosed shoes
- Appropriate clothing for warm and cold conditions
- Sunscreen, hat and toiletries
- Camera (or just a phone if you prefer)
- Water bottle
- All children must be accompanied by a paying adult
- The experience provider must be notified of any disability that may prevent someone from understanding directions, could result in unpredictable behaviour, or that limits a person's mobility
- Guest are able to visit the farm for free. Participation in the event/tour requires a booking
- This tour is open to the public with group sizes of up to 12 people
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no-shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
