What you can expect
Discover the best of K’gari, a bucket list destination just off the coast of Queensland and the world’s largest sand island. Perfect for families, locals, and travellers chasing something different, this full-day adventure combines wildlife spotting, coastal cruising, and hands-on exploration in one unforgettable experience. Departing from Hervey Bay, your journey begins aboard a fast catamaran where you can relax with morning tea while scanning the horizon for whales in season, along with dolphins, turtles, and dugongs that call these waters home.
Step ashore via a purpose-built amphibious vessel and arrive on the pristine western side of the island at Wathumba Creek. From here, the day is yours to explore. Swim, snorkel, kayak, or try stand-up paddleboarding in crystal-clear waters, or join a guided walk to take in the island’s stunning natural beauty. Refuel with a classic Aussie barbecue lunch on board, followed by a relaxed afternoon filled with beach activities and a relaxed afternoon tea, as you soak in the laidback island atmosphere before cruising back to the mainland.

Absolutely awesome day spent out on the Tasman Venture vessel Pure Wave. Captain Reese and his excellent crew were exceptional. From watching whales to all the other activities we did and exploring K'gari. a good day was had by us. A big thankyou to all for an amazing day. Highly recommend this tour.
