You can bring whatever you want on the boat, it seats up to 8 people and has a good sized table in the middle for all your food and drinks. *Note GoBoats does not provide food or drinks, its something you have to bring on your own. Which is fantastic! We got chicken wings, snacks and even a whole Charcuterie board with fruits, jams, honey etc. We actually has some miscommunication between our group of 8 and none of us brought drinks. However while on the boat we were able to dock and grab a ton of drinks from the Uber eats one of us ordered 😀. The boat is easy to drive, a few of took turns sterling the boat. You hire the boat per hour, not by person - thus you can have 2 people or 8 on the boat the price will be the same per hour - which is awesome. We took this electric boat during the evening time where the weather was nice with a slight breeze, plus on the way down the river we were able to see the sunset which was stunning. Since the boat is electric, you dont hear the annoying sound of a loud engine of the river but instead can sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and surrounding nature. Fantastic experience will definitely go on the GoBoat again the next time we are in Melbourne. 🚤

The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The boats are super easy to drive and were provided with terrific instructions. It was an awesome way to explore Melbourne by floating down the Yarra river. Came across a angry rowing coach who was supervising two young girls but other than that it was a trouble free cruise.

Whether you want some relaxing time by yourself or a fun experience with friends or family, this is a great option. The booking process was smooth and straightforward. The staff took their time to explain the route, the rules, and how to use the boat in a very clear and easy to understand way. Using the boat itself is very simple, even for first time users. The boat was clean, well maintained, and equipped with a table, which made it comfortable for spending time on the water. The views were beautiful, and at one point I genuinely wondered why I had not tried this experience earlier. The price was reasonable, and since you can go as a group and split the cost, it becomes even more affordable for each person. The only point I would suggest improving is the timing of the explanation. Our booking was from 6:00 to 8:00, but we actually started the journey at around 6:20 and were still asked to return at 8:00 rather than 8:20. That said, this did not take away much from the experience, as we still enjoyed our time on the water and had a great evening together. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and I would definitely come back again.

It’s hands-down the best way to see Melbourne from the water. The boats are super easy to drive (no licence needed), and the whole vibe is so relaxed and fun. We brought a little picnic, floated past the city skyline, and honestly felt like we had our own private moving picnic table. Perfect for a summer afternoon with friends or family. The staff were friendly and made everything seamless. Highly recommend for anyone wanting something carefree, unique, and just… fun. Can’t wait to do it again!
