What you can expect
Take to the skies for a hands-on 45-minute trial flight over Perth and experience what it is like to fly a real aircraft with a qualified flight instructor beside you.
Your experience begins at Wingman Academies with a pre-flight safety and aircraft briefing. Your instructor will introduce you to the aircraft, explain the main controls and prepare you for your time in the cockpit.
Once airborne, and when conditions permit, you will be invited to take the controls under close instructor supervision. You may practise basic manoeuvres such as straight and level flight, gentle turns, climbing and descending while enjoying views of Perth and the surrounding coastline.
No previous flying experience is required. The flight profile will be adapted to weather, air traffic and operational conditions. After landing, the experience concludes with a post-flight debrief and an opportunity to take photos beside the aircraft.

- This experience is located at 4 Compass Road, Jandakot Airport, WA 6164. This experience takes place at Wingman Academies, 4 Compass Road, Jandakot Airport, WA 6164. Free public parking is available on site.
- Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and enclosed, flat shoes.
- Avoid high heels, loose scarves, bulky jackets, hats and unsecured accessories.
- Sunglasses are recommended.
- Rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled flight. All changes are subject to instructor, aircraft and operational availability. Weather-related changes will be arranged directly by Wingman Academies.
- Participant changes may be accepted before the experience, subject to the replacement participant meeting all age, weight, health and suitability requirements. Please contact Wingman Academies before the flight to request a participant change.
- This experience is valid for one participant. Only the booked participant may enter the aircraft unless otherwise arranged in advance.
- Spectators are welcome to attend and may watch the aircraft depart and return from the designated viewing area. Access to operational areas is restricted and all visitors must follow staff instructions. Spectator access may be limited due to safety or airport operations.
- Flights are weather dependent and may be delayed, shortened, rerouted or rescheduled if conditions are unsuitable. Wingman Academies will contact you if a change is required. Weather-related changes are made for safety and do not result in the loss of the experience.
- Participants must be able to enter and exit a light aircraft and sit securely with the seat belt fastened. Access may involve stepping onto the wing or using a small step. Please contact Wingman Academies before booking if the participant has reduced mobility or requires assistance so suitability can be assessed.
- Bookings must be made at least 12 hours in advance. The participant’s accurate weight must be provided at the time of booking. Final aircraft allocation is subject to operational requirements and aircraft availability.
- Participants must follow all instructions provided by the flight instructor
- If you are unsure about your suitability to fly, please consult your doctor before booking
- Please advise Wingman Academies in advance of any medical condition, recent surgery, mobility limitation or other concern that may affect participation
- Participants who are prone to motion sickness should advise the instructor before the flight
- Flying under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited
- Loose items cannot be taken into the cockpit unless approved by the instructor
- Participants under 18 years of age require written consent from a parent or legal guardian
- Final flight duration, route and aircraft type are subject to weather, aircraft availability, air traffic requirements and operational conditions
- All flights are conducted at the discretion of the pilot in command
- Each aircraft has specific operating limitations, including maximum occupant weight requirements. Please provide an accurate weight at the time of booking so we can allocate a suitable aircraft for your flight. Where the aircraft assigned for the experience is not suitable, an alternative aircraft may be offered subject to availability. Any applicable difference in cost will be confirmed and arranged before the flight.
- Bookings may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice
- Changes requested within 48 hours of the scheduled experience are not permitted
- Late arrivals may result in a shortened flight or forfeiture of the experience
- Failure to attend without notice will result in forfeiture of the experience
- Weather-related cancellations will be rescheduled at no additional charge
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
