What you can expect
If you’re looking for an adventure, a kayaking session in one of Perth’s spectacular waterways is the perfect opportunity to get out on the water, get active, and reconnect with nature. Hire a double kayak and explore at your own pace on either Swan River, Canning River, or Shoalwater Bay. The great thing about kayaking is that it’s easy to pick up and instantly enjoyable - so it’s the perfect activity for the whole family because the kids will love it. You can rent a double kayak (or more than one) and embark on a journey with your mates, partner or family.
Kayak hire also means that you get to choose your own adventure. You can paddle slowly or challenge yourself with speed. You can design a route or just decide as you go. How you use your kayaking session is up to you! You’ll be heading out on one of Perth’s picturesque waterways, where you can keep an eye out for the abundance of marine life and wildlife that inhabit these areas.

- Kayak hire at Canning River and Swan River: 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm
- Kayak hire at Shoalwater Bay: 9am-3pm
- Kayak hire at Canning River and Swan River is three hours in duration
- Kayak hire at Shoalwater Bay is five hours in duration
- Canning River: Kent Street Weir Park, Wilson. Swan River: Mandoon Estate, Caversham.
- Shoalwater Bay: corner Arcadia Drive and Gloucester Avenue
- When you book the provider will email you a map of the pick up location
- Shorts, footwear you don’t mind getting wet, towel, hat, sunscreen, strap for glasses, and a change of clothes for after
- Dress for the weather and assume you will get a bit wet from the paddles
- Bring something to drink, and there is time for a snack if you want to bring something to eat
- If your camera is not waterproof a dry bag is recommended
- Your paddling session must fit in with the provider's tour destinations and times. Please note: these sessions are only available when a tour is running that day. Canning River and Swan River sessions are only available on the weekend. Note: Shoalwater Bay option is recommended for more experienced paddlers (wind and waves are likely)
- For beginners we recommend booking onto the guided tours or the Canning river which is very calm
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
