Break One Clay Target Sport's mission is simple, to share their passion for Clay Target Shooting at their exclusive shooting range on Queenstown Hill, just 15 minutes from Queenstown town centre and boasting spectacular views of Coronet Peak and Lake Wakatipu!
Break One is Queenstown’s ORIGINAL Clay Target Shooting experience, family-owned and operated since 2004 and offering a personalized experience with full instruction provided by their experienced Clay Target coaching team.
You will shoot from one of four designated shooting stations and will shoot a variety of different style clay targets thrown from one of our 12 clay target traps. You’ll get to use top-quality Beretta 12-gauge shotguns and get a few practice shots in, before seeing who has the best aim in a scored competition.
Break One has a range of Clay Target Shooting options, but their most popular shooting option is ‘The Challenge’.
The Challenge is Queenstown’s Ultimate Group Shooting Experience and includes Warm-up practice shots followed by a scored competition. You'll get to shoot a variety or single and double target presentations as well as Break One’s signature ‘Beretta Challenge’ with four fast-flying targets one after the other from different directions! (minimum 32 shots)
Clay Target Shooting is a great all-weather activity and suitable for all abilities. The team at Break One will guarantee you break a clay and have fun doing it!

- Departs 10 am and 1 pm daily or by arrangement
- This experience takes approximately 2 hours including return transport to Queenstown
- Courtesy Transport is provided to/from most local accommodation.
- Our shooting range is located in a remote location on Queenstown Hill Station - a working merino sheep farm, 15 minutes from Queenstown.
- Self-drive customers can park at our meeting point on Tuckers Beach Road, and we will escort you from there.
- Dress for the weather on the day
- In the winter, a warm coat, jumper, hat, scarf and gloves.
- In the summer, a hat, sunglasses, water and sunscreen
- Your Camera. Our range is nestled in the valley of one of the most scenic working High Country Stations in New Zealand, plus you’ll need photographic evidence of the ‘Top shots’ of the group!
- Must be 13 years of age, 1.5m tall and 50kgs minimum to manage the firearm safely.
- Suitable for all abilities, even those that have never shot before.
- FREE Courtesy Transport from most local Queenstown Accommodation.
