The region's vineyards thrive in a climate characterised by cold winters and dry, warm summers, with large temperature variations between day and night adding complexity to the winemaking process. Despite these challenges, Queenstown has risen to become one of the world’s most celebrated winegrowing areas, boasting numerous awards and accolades.
As you embark on the Queenstown Wine Trail, you’ll visit a carefully curated selection of the area’s best vineyards, each a testament to the passion, hard work, and dedication of local winemakers. Your friendly guide will accompany you from Queenstown into the Wakatipu wine region, sharing local insights along the way. At each stop, you’ll have the chance to meet a representative from the vineyard who will introduce you to the wines you’ll be sampling, deepening your appreciation for each glass.
