Most Sydney driving experiences happen at Sydney Motorsport Park in Eastern Creek, where you can drive a V8 race car, a Lamborghini, a Ferrari or a Lotus, or a Formula Ford, or ride along in a V8 or a drift car. This page sorts them by whether you want the wheel in your hands or a professional driving, and by how many laps you want.

V8 race car drives and hot laps

The Sydney V8 4 Lap Drive puts you behind the wheel of a race-engineered V8 on the North Circuit, a 3.1km track with 13 corners and 2 drag strips. A CAMS experienced coach rides with you, and the race suit and open face helmet are supplied after a pre-drive briefing. Brabham, Brock and Skaife have all driven the same circuit. Sessions start at 8am, 11am and 2pm, subject to change, and you check in 15 minutes before.

If you'd rather ride, the Sydney V8 Hot Laps Package gives you 2 laps in the front passenger seat with a professional racing driver, in about 3 hours. For a longer drive, the V8 Mustang 8 Lap Drive adds an instructor who talks you around the North Circuit through an in-car headset.

Lamborghini, Ferrari and Lotus supercar drives

The Lamborghini Gallardo 6 lap drive and the Ferrari Modena 360 6 lap drive both run on the south circuit. The Lotus Elise 4 lap drive uses the Performance Track.

Each has a professional in-car coach, and electronic lap counters measure laps from pit to pit. Allow four hours, arrive 15 minutes early and check availability, as they run on selected weekends. Photo and video packages are sold on the day.

Formula Ford racing and drift battle hot laps

The F1 style race car driving experience uses real, unmodified Formula Ford Championship race cars with no rev limiters, so you sit inches above the track in a six-point harness. It's 10 laps in about 2 to 3 hours, and coffee, tea and water are supplied.

In the Drift Battle Hot Laps you ride as a passenger in a purpose-built drift car for 2, 4 or 8 laps, in a side-by-side battle against another competition drifter. Day sessions run roughly every 15 minutes from 9am to 3.30pm, with night sessions from 6.30pm to 10pm. Times shift with class size and weather.

A different kind of ride: Sydney by motorcycle

The Sydney Sights Motorcycle Tour is 1 hour on a Harley or a Chopper 4 trike over the Harbour Bridge, through Kings Cross and out to Mrs Macquarie's Chair. You get a jacket, a helmet, stops for photos and a free photo gallery. Trike rides need two passengers.
