What you can expect
Discover what it takes to fly a helicopter on a 60 minute pilot experience flight from Bankstown Aerodrome in Sydney. Your lesson starts on the ground, where an experienced instructor walks you through the briefing, explaining each control and how they work together before you head out to the aircraft. You will fly the Guimbal Cabri G2, one of the safest and most modern training helicopters in the world, with side by side seating so you and your instructor share exactly the same view.
Once airborne, the instructor gradually passes the controls across, and most people find themselves flying within minutes. Sessions are one on one, so you are the only student on board and the whole hour is yours. Allow around two hours all up for the briefing, orientation and flight, and bring your sunglasses for the glare. Best of all, the hour can be logged towards a helicopter pilot licence.

- Detailed briefing before takeoff covering the helicopter controls and how they interact
- Time at the controls under the supervision of a qualified flight instructor
- One on one instruction with one student on board
- Noise cancelling aviation headsets and live instruction throughout
- This experience is two hours in duration, which includes the briefing, aircraft orientation and a 60 minute flight.

- Bookings are essential as instructor and aircraft availability is limited
- Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time for check in

- Participant weight must be provided at the time of booking for aircraft weight and balance calculations

- Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent who consents to their participation
- One participant per booking as the aircraft seats one student and one instructor
- Participant changes are permitted provided weight limits are met
- Participants should wear comfortable clothing and flat, enclosed shoes and avoid loose hats, scarves and light items
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
- Friends and family are welcome to watch from the ground but cannot fly, as the aircraft seats two
- This experience is not recommended for participants who are pregnant
- Participants with heart conditions, back or neck injuries, recent surgery, epilepsy, vertigo or other medical conditions affected by flight should consult their doctor before booking and advise the experience provider
- Participants under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to fly
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience start time
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
