What you need to know
- Departing from Kalbarri Airport on a 45-minute scenic flight to view the incredible Pink Lake
- Hug the coastline en route to one of Western Australias most stunning lakes located at Hutt Lagoon near Port Gregory
- Fly over the township of Kalbarri before flying low and hugging the coastline for a birdseye view of the Indian Ocean and the red rock coastal cliffs
- The red rock coastal cliffs are 400 million-year-old and were once a part of an ancient coral reef system of the Indian Ocean
- Continue north towards Rainbow Valley where century-old cliffs have been subject to weathering and erosion. With the mixture of the salty sea mist and expelling rock minerals, a unique rainbow is formed
- View a series of connecting gorges, including the natural bridge before flying past the white sandy beaches of Lucky Bay
- Fly over Pink Lake, the pink colour is created by the presence of carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina, a source of ß-carotene
- After circling the lake head back along the coastal cliffs and over the town to the airport
