What you can expect
Learn the magic of sculpting as you bring a three-dimensional character to life with modelling tinfoil and plasticine.
Sculpting characters, creatures and environments is at the core of what Wētā Workshop does and the sculpting room is where many of our creations come to life. Get hands-on and be led through the fundamentals of sculpting by our crew to bring a fantastical creature to life.
You’ll learn the skills to craft a sculpture from household materials and modelling clay. Then take your sculpture home to add other effects yourself–then proudly display!
Our creative workshops cater to small groups to allow for one-on-one learning with our crew.
No creative experience is necessary.

What you need to know
- Creative workshop and all materials for your session
- This experience has a duration of 60 minutes
- This experience is located at Cnr Camperdown Road & Weka Street, Miramar, Wellington 6022
- Creative workshops are available for those aged 12 and over
- Photography is strictly prohibited whilst in the tour spaces
- Please notify the provider if you have sensitive skin or known allergies
- There is a 550m walk between the tour space and hands-on workshop space. Please allow enough time to find a carpark, as spaces are limited
- Please allow up to 48 hours for a response. If cancellation is made within 24 hours of arrival, there is no refund available.
- If cancellation is made within 48 hours of arrival, we will refund 50% of the total booking price.
- If a tour is cancelled by Weta Workshop, we can reschedule your tour to another day that suits you or offer a full refund.
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
- For your information, complete Tour Operator Information including contact details is included on your tour voucher
- Availability was accurate at the time of booking however, is subject to change due to circumstances out of our control
