What you can expect
Take to the skies above the Yarra Valley on a 40 minute scenic flight in a beautifully restored 1943 de Havilland Tiger Moth, departing from Lilydale Airport. Your day starts with a safety briefing and a fit out of flying helmet, goggles, headset and leather jacket, before you climb into the open cockpit alongside an experienced commercial pilot.
From the air you will follow the winding Yarra River as it meanders through the valley, passing over vineyards, rivers and forest before the aircraft climbs towards the Dandenong Ranges. As Mount Dandenong fills the horizon, you will track the ridgeline with panoramic views opening across the valley, the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip Bay. With plenty of time in the air, your pilot works in sweeping turns and dynamic manoeuvres so you get the full open cockpit experience. Dress warmly, bring closed shoes and enjoy one of the most memorable ways to see this corner of Victoria.

- This experience is approximately 40 minutes in duration from take off to shut down
- Participants should allow 60 minutes in total including the safety briefing
- This experience departs from Hangar 6, Lilydale Airport, Yering, VIC 3770.
- Participants should wear warm, casual clothes and closed shoes.
- Participants must be at least 13 years old
- Maximum participant weight is 100kg
- Maximum participant height is 200cm
- This experience is available throughout the year on weekends
- Maximum 10 people unless prior arrangement is made with the experience provider
- All bookings are fully transferrable
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
