What you can expect
Take to the skies above the Yarra Valley in a beautifully restored 1943 de Havilland Tiger Moth, an open cockpit biplane flight of approximately 30 minutes departing from the aerodrome at Yering. Your pilot starts with a safety briefing before you are fitted out with a flying helmet, goggles, headset and leather jacket, so allow 60 minutes for the full experience.
Once airborne, the biplane turns out over the valley and drops low to follow the twists and turns of the Yarra River towards Healesville, with vineyards, farmland and the ridgelines of the Yarra Ranges spread out below. The open cockpit makes it feel wonderfully immediate, with the wind rushing past and views in every direction. To finish, your pilot climbs to a safe altitude for a set of classic aerobatics, rolling through loops, barrel rolls and wingovers before returning to the aerodrome. Dress warmly and wear closed shoes, and bring a camera if you can keep a firm hold of it.

- Participants should allow 60 minutes in total including the pre flight safety briefing
- This experience departs from Hangar 6, Lilydale Airport, Yering, VIC 3770.
- Participants should wear warm casual clothing and closed shoes
- A leather flying jacket, flying helmet and gloves are provided by the experience provider
- Participants must be at least 13 years of age
- Maximum participant weight is 100kg
- Maximum participant height is 200cm
- This experience is available on weekends throughout the year
- A maximum of 10 participants applies unless prior arrangement is made with the experience provider
- All bookings are fully transferrable
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
