What you can expect
Soar over the Yarra Valley on a 40 minute open cockpit flight in a restored 1943 de Havilland Tiger Moth, departing from Lilydale Airport at Yering. After a pre flight safety briefing, you will be kitted out with a flying helmet, goggles, headset and leather flying jacket before climbing aboard with an experienced commercial pilot.
From the air you will follow the winding Yarra River as vineyards, forests and farmland spread out beneath you, then climb towards the Dandenong Ranges for sweeping panoramic views across the valley and beyond. The Tiger Moth is one of aviation's most recognisable aircraft, and in an open cockpit you feel every turn as it shows off the agility that made its name. To finish, your pilot runs through a display of loops, barrel rolls, wingovers and other classic manoeuvres. Flights run on weekends throughout the year, so dress warmly and allow 60 minutes at the airfield including your briefing.

- Participants should allow 60 minutes in total including the pre flight safety briefing

- Participants should wear warm casual clothing and closed shoes
- A leather flying jacket, flying helmet and gloves are provided by the experience provider
- Participants must be at least 13 years old
- Maximum participant weight is 100kg
- Maximum participant height is 200cm
- This experience operates on weekends throughout the year
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
- Bookings are fully transferrable
- A maximum of 10 participants applies unless prior arrangement is made with the experience provider
