What you can expect
Discover the Yarra Valley from the air on a 40 minute open cockpit flight aboard a beautifully restored 1943 de Havilland Tiger Moth. Departing from Lilydale Airport at Yering, your flight begins with a safety briefing before you are kitted out with a leather flying jacket, flying helmet, goggles and headset. Settle into the cockpit with an experienced commercial pilot at the controls and lift off over one of Victoria's most famous wine regions.
From there it is a sweeping run across vineyards, forests, winding rivers and the mountain ranges that frame the valley, with wide open views in every direction and fresh air rushing past. Allow around 60 minutes all up, from briefing to shut down. Flights run on weekends throughout the year, so it slots easily into a weekend of cellar doors and country drives, and it is a genuinely different way to see the Yarra Valley.

- This experience is 60 minutes in duration including the safety briefing, with approximately 40 minutes of flight time.
- This experience departs from Hangar 6, Lilydale Airport, Yering, VIC 3770.
- Wear warm, casual clothes and closed shoes
- A leather jacket, flying helmet and gloves are provided by the experience provider
- Participants must be at least 13 years old
- Maximum participant weight is 100kg
- Maximum participant height is 200cm
- Maximum of 10 participants unless prior arrangement is made with the experience provider
- Bookings are fully transferrable
- This experience is available on weekends throughout the year
- In extreme weather conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern, you will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled
