What you can expect
Cruise the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail on a guided full day electric bike tour through the Yarra Valley, following 40km of one of Victoria's most scenic old railway lines. Powered by a premium fat tyre electric bike, you roll out from Lilydale and climb gently towards Mt Evelyn, the highest point of the ride at 230 metres, then cruise on through Wandin, Seville and Woori Yallock with your qualified local guide.
The trail passes 11 former railway stations, with regular stops to stretch your legs, watch for birdlife and take in the lush countryside. Pause for a coffee at the Carriage Cafe in Seville, then soak up the charm of the historic Home Hotel at Launching Place, built in 1883. The final stretch glides beside the Yarra River into Warburton, where the newly renovated Alpine Hotel sets the scene for a relaxed two course lunch and a welcome drink. With the electric bike doing the hard work, you go further and enjoy every kilometre without breaking a sweat.

- Meet and greet in Lilydale (30 minutes), where riders gather at the athletic field opposite the Lilydale Train Station car park for a welcome and safety briefing before the ride begins
- Lilydale to Seville (one hour), climbing the highest point of the ride up Mt Evelyn at 230 metres, then rolling on past Wandin station with birdlife along the way
- Carriage Cafe, Seville (30 minutes), a coffee and rest stop set in a converted train carriage, with toilet facilities available
- Seville to Launching Place (one hour), an easy leg of flat riding and mountain views, with animals often spotted around Killara and Woori Yallock
- Home Hotel, Launching Place (30 minutes), a refreshment stop at a historic 1883 hotel with a beer garden beside the bike parking and toilet facilities available
- Launching Place to Warburton (one hour), cruising through Yarra Junction, Wesburn and Millgrove before gliding beside the Yarra River into Warburton
- Luncheon at the Alpine Hotel, Warburton (90 minutes), a two course lunch with a welcome drink at the newly renovated hotel, followed by the return transfer to Lilydale Station or local accommodation
- This experience runs from 9am to 3.30pm.
- This experience is approximately six hours in duration.
- This experience departs from the car park near the football ovals at the Lilydale end of the rail trail, around a 200m walk from Lilydale Train Station on Maroondah Hwy, Lilydale VIC 3140.
- Wear comfortable clothing suitable for cycling
- Bring a light jacket if the forecast is cool
- Closed toe shoes are essential
- Sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended when needed
- Tours operate on Saturdays
- Each tour runs with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 participants
- Not suitable for children under 16 years
- Participants must be able to ride a bike
- Not suitable for people with mobility impairments, wheelchair users or people who are visually impaired
- Participants must be at least 155cm tall and 130 kg or under
- Participants must be 18 years and over as this experience involves alcohol; photo ID may be required
- Dietary requirements can be advised on arrival at lunch
- Tours may still run in light rain, with the route or timings adjusted as needed
- In severe weather where the electric bikes cannot be used a pro rata credit applies, and an alternative tour taking in similar visits and lunch will still run
- Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
