What you can expect

Discover a different side of Esk on a guided llama walk along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Accompanied by friendly wranglers, lead your own llama along the mostly flat route. Capture plenty of memorable photos and enjoy a hands-on feeding experience while learning more about these curious and gentle animals.

Stop by a local cafe for an included coffee or cold drink before making your way back to Lions Park. With a wheelchair-accessible route and only one gentle incline, this easygoing experience is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities. Perfect for animal lovers, families and weekend adventurers, it's a unique way to discover the beauty and charm of Esk.

  • 45-minute return guided llama walk
  • A llama to lead (age restrictions apply)
  • One coffee or cold beverage at the local cafe
  • Hand-feeding experience
  • Multiple photo opportunities
  • Spring and summer tours departs at 9am
  • Autumn and winter tours depart at 9am and 3pm
  • Please allow approximately 65 minutes for the full experience duration
  • Return walk is 45 minutes in duration
  • Cafe stop is approximately 20 minutes in duration
  • This experience departs from Lions Park, Ipswich Street, Esk QLD 4312
  • Meet opposite the Esk Visitor Information Centre and next to the Esk Caravan Park
  • Enclosed shoes (required)
  • Sneakers or walking shoes (recommended)

  • Jacket during cooler weather
  • If the experience is cancelled due to weather, participants will be offered a new date.
  • This experience is wheelchair accessible.
  • Children under 12 cannot lead a llama independently

  • The route is mostly flat with one gentle incline
