Step onto Gwoyalwa Gulumoerrgin, Larrakia Country, to explore the Larrakia Cultural Centre in Darwin. Designed to reflect a Larrakia ancestral being taking flight from a sacred site, the centre rises above exterior gardens where native plantings and sculpture trace the Gulumoerrgin Seven Seasons, drawing you beneath its sweeping form.
Inside, take your time with the permanent exhibition of Larrakia cultural knowledge, history and treasures returned from collections around the world, then continue through the temporary gallery to see evolving contemporary works by Larrakia artists. General entry is entirely self-guided, giving you the freedom to explore one of the world's oldest continuous living cultures at your own pace, for as long as you like. Finish up with a stop at the store for handcrafted pieces supporting Larrakia artists and businesses, or a bite at the restaurant, where local produce and bush ingredients pair with sweeping harbour views.
