What you can expect
Discover New Zealand’s Otago Peninsula on this 60 minute wildlife cruise. The region is rich in diverse marine life and you will get to witness these marine mammals up close in their natural environment. Onboard the MV Monarch, passengers will delight in viewing Albatross in the world’s ONLY mainland nesting place. Other common marine life that you will see are the NZ Furseals fighting and playing on the rocks and the NZ Sealions returning to the beaches. While onboard listen to interesting commentary about the wildlife, history and geology of the region. This tour is part scenic cruise and part wildlife cruise as you take in the sights of the Otago coastline on the way out to sea. Cruises depart daily from Wellers Rock Wharf, Otago Peninsula with additional cruises available in the summer season.

What you need to know
- A 60 minute wildlife cruise Departing from Wellers Rock Wharf 813 Harington Point Rd, discover the rugged coastline, rolling farmland and quaint townships of the region with commentary on the passing scenes and wildlife
- Warm jackets are provided and the aft deck is enclosed and heated
- Cruise the Otago Harbour and encounter New Zealand's southern ocean marine and bird life
- Keep an eye on sky as the Northern Royal Albatross maybe soaring above returning to their mainland nesting ground. The world's only mainland nesting grounds for the Albatross
- Watch the native Fur Seal fight and play on the rocks around their breeding rookeries and witness the endangered native Sea Lions returning to the sandy beaches
- Out towards the open sea you may spot you may see penguins, dolphins and other marine mammals
- View the breathtaking and rugged coastline close to the entrance of the Otago Harbour
