Set off from Launceston for a ripper full day guided journey exploring Tassie’s sparkling East Coast. Wander the Georgian streets of Evandale and Campbell Town (check out the Convict Brick Trail and Red Bridge), then cruise into Freycinet National Park where The Hazards rise from the sea. Stretch your legs on the easy Cape Tourville Lighthouse walk for cracking 360° views before tackling the 1.3km uphill stroll to the famous Wineglass Bay Lookout - one of Tassie’s Great Short Walks.
Feeling keen? Continue on a 2.5-hour return hike to Wineglass Bay Beach for lunch on the sand, a swim in pristine waters and plenty of photo ops. Prefer it cruisy? Relax at Honeymoon Bay instead. Along the way, enjoy fresh seafood, ice-creams and local stories, finishing with sweeping views (and optional wine tastings, pizza and more) at Devil’s Corner Cellar Door. Book now!
It's worth it
We visited some wonderful places. Tip: if you're fit enough to walk, go down the 1000 steps and back up again to Wineglass Bay. You don't have much time there though (I think it was about 20 minutes). If you prefer something a little more relaxed (there's a lot of walking beforehand) then let the tour leader drive you to Honeymoon Bay! It's beautiful. He also offers this for everyone. The group splits up later and the people who are going on to Hobart are assigned to another bus. Changing buses went smoothly. Everyone was really nice. You see a lot in a short time.
Great tour. Great transport between Locations. Great tour guides/drivers. Very professional.
We had a wonderful tour. Graeme picked us up on time at the destination we choose from the list in Launceston. We picked up 3 more groups 7 people in all. We followed the plan set out. Graeme was wonderful at clearly sharing the plan of the day. He also was very informative and shared about each area we were in. Graeme actually went on the hikes with us and pointed out key information and answered our questions. We appreciated that he adjusted the main hike for the more advanced hiker, the family, and the older couple. He met all our individual needs and was gracious about all the adjustments. About 3:00pm we switched vehicles depending on who was returning to Their original location or moving on to the other side of Tasmania. At this point we headed to Hobart with our new tour operator/driver Clinton. He was a skilled storyteller and shared much information about Tasmania. We made one stop at a beach. He graciously retold stories and info for us new to the van. We still got our full tour and more. He also slowed a bit for photos. Clinton G. dropped each of us off at our hotels… all on time. We had a great day and learned so much. Great tour. Great tour guides.
