What you can expect
If you’re wanting to learn how to surf and prefer one on one instruction then a one hour private surf lesson in Port Stephens is the way to go. The passion of your surf instructor really shines through as you start with a lesson on land before moving into the ocean to put your new skills to the test.
Start with the basics including surf safety, board position, posture and paddling in order to build confidence in the water, read the surf and catch your first waves. Like all things in life, it takes practice but you’ll have plenty of time to master your surfing technique and chances are that you’ll walk away with a new hobby that you can take away with you and surf anywhere in the world.
Port Stephens Surf School operates surf lessons daily from Hannah Parade, One Mile Beach. Simply book online and meet at the Port Stephens Surf School trailer 15 minutes prior to your booked lesson.

- This experience begins at 10.00am daily, for 1 hour
- This experience departs from Hannah Parade, One Mile Beach, NSW, 2316. Please meet our friendly staff and check in 15 minutes prior to your lesson commencing, at our surf school van, located in the car park.
- Please bring your swimmers and a towel. If you have a wetsuit that you would prefer to wear then you are more then welcome to bring it! Otherwise everything else is provided.
- If you would like to reschedule a lesson you have booked, we need at least 7 days notice. Failure to give the necessary notice will mean you forfeit the cost of that lesson. Under these circumstances there are no refunds, partial or otherwise

- We offer private lessons for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 participants

- Lessons will operate in the sunshine or rain. Surf lessons will not be cancelled when it rains and operate in all weather conditions providing it is safe to do so
- Be warned you may have to share your waves with the local dolphins that frequent one of the beaches during your lesson
- All participants must be able to swim 25 meters
- All participants must fill in and sign our Waiver Form. Children under the age of 18 years must have a parent or guardian sign the Waiver Form
- Children must be 5 years and over to participate in our surf lessons
- Surf lessons will not be cancelled when it rains, we run surf lessons in all weather conditions providing it is safe to do so, therefore no refunds or credits are given
- Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
- Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
- Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on day of the experience
- Mobile Vouchers are accepted! - Vouchers can also be presented on your mobile device for this attraction
