Settle in for a relaxed half day of food, stories and culture in a traditional Māori village tucked into the beautiful Tawa forest. Wander in through the trees to a warm welcome of forest horotai, tasty canapes that are perfect for rolling up your sleeves and tucking into together.

Then gather around for a three course dinner served al fresco under the Tawa trees, with cosy bonfires glowing and every dish infused with traditional Māori flavours. Between bites, enjoy Māori performance, tradition and storytelling, and discover how celebrations change with each season of the Māori lunar calendar, the Maramataka.

It is an easy, interactive way to step back in time and learn how tribes lived, built alliances and made their mark on the land. Presented by the most awarded cultural attraction in New Zealand, this is a fun and educational evening that the whole family can enjoy, and one you will all be talking about long after the last bonfire fades.
