Venture beyond the shoreline on a three-hour island tour of Lake Wānaka, with departures from Wānaka Marina at 9am or 2pm. With a local skipper at the helm and no more than 6 guests on board, you’ll step ashore, swim in crystal-clear water and soak up mountain views with nothing to do but take it all in.
Morning tours glide past the famous Wānaka tree on the way to Mou Waho Island, where a short track leads up to Arethusa Pool, a lake on an island in a lake. Afternoon tours set off for Ruby Island and Stevensons Island, with time to roam and cool off. There are snacks and drinks onboard, and no experience is needed, making it one of the best things to do with kids in Wānaka.
