Enjoy a unique way to discover the multitude of fantastic wineries McLaren Vale has to offer with this fantastic McLaren Vale bike tour. The only wine cycle tour in Adelaide, this tour incorporates not only wonderful drops of wine but also breathtaking scenery that can only be appreciated by bike. Departing from Central Adelaide by luxury 4WD you'll be transported to Kuitpo Forest where you'll be geared up and provided with your bicycle ready for hours of great tastes, wonderful views and plenty of fun.
A mostly downhill ride, this McLaren Vale Winery bike tour incorporates leisurely riding making it suitable for all fitness abilities. Following sections of the Kidman Trail, the tour will begin at the highest point in the area and only follows a downhill route meaning there are no tiring hills to climb. Once the descent down Willunga Hill is complete it's on to the most important part of the tour - the wine tasting!
Travelling between a number of local McLaren Vale wineries, you'll have the chance to sample some of their finest products and even purchase a bottle or two if they tempt your palate. To conclude the tour, your group will be given the opportunity to visit either a microbrewery, another winery, a cafe for a sweet treat or on a warm day one of the beaches that fringe the Vale for a swim.
Tours depart on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at around 9 am, returning at approximately 5 pm. Should you wish to make any purchases, a van is available to collect your items so that you don't have to worry about transporting them for the day. There is a maximum of 6 people per group. - Pick-ups from hotels in Central Adelaide and Glenelg are available on request. Please specify preferred pick-up location at the time of booking
- If the minimum number of passengers is not met, the operator is able to offer an alternative trip in the Adelaide Hills riding from Mount Lofty to Hahndorf; this option includes wine and cheese tasting at Nepenthe winery and wine and chocolate tasting at Hahndorf Hills for groups of 2 or more.
