Nice island lots to do! Suggest to walk to Nudy beach.
Very good and direct ride from Cairns to the island. Equipment can be rented on board (suggested!) and the island itself is enjoyable, nice little spots to dip in the water. And nice walk to Nudy beach, on the other hand not so sure that the walk to the gardens is worth it.
Easy and convenient for everyone thats wanna try for the first time
Tickets issue straight away and the island so beautiful worth every penny highly recommend to try !! We got all the equipment and there is a guide as well that make us easier to enjoy everything there! We suggest to everyone that really wants to enjoy the reef and the beaches.
What you can expect
Departing daily from Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal, a short 1 hour ride in our air-conditioned catamaran will take you to the tropical paradise of Fitzroy Island. Fitzroy Island is favourite trip for Cairns' locals with 99% of its landscape covered in lush tropical rainforest as well as granite outcrops, open woodlands, mangroves and coral beaches.

Pure waste of money. Rude sunlover reef cruise crew. Just buy ferry pass and get your own snorkelling gear. Eat at the cafe.
The crew on the sunlover reef cruise weren't friendly. Missed the glass bottom tour by a minute. The fitzroy island tours person said we can try sort it when they come back. The crew came back for second trip but was a bit rude and didn't let us take the next ride because they apparently said no capacity. Even though there was enough space. Bad experience never going sunlover reef cruise again. Fitzroy island was beautiful. No refund was processed for missing the glassbottom tour. Strictly greedy.

Fitzroy island day tour, lunch boxes and snorkeling
We had a really good day at Fitzroy island, the boat ride there and the staff on the boat were very friendly, our only downfall would be the lunch we had hoped for a buffet lunch which we paid for however the day before we got told it would be lunch boxes, only problem is being someone who is quite fussy we didn’t actually eat the lunch boxes and then we ended up having to carry them all day. It would be a good idea to have a spot for the lunch boxes and the snorkeling gear once you are done with them, it was quite heavy carting all of this along some of the hikes.
