Night at the Aquarium - thoroughly recommended!
This experience way exceeded expectations. Jordan, the Marine Biologist who ran the tour was brilliant - the additional knowledge imparted massively contributed to the experience. Booking through the Aquarium meant that our table for dinner was right next to the aquarium.
Amazing combo deal!
Absolutely amazing combo deal! The tour and our tour guide, Makayla or Kayla I think her name was, had an amazing vibe and explained everything really well. This is one of the best aquariums I have visited, so much to see. The dinner at Dundees Restaurant was amazing too, the meals were small but I don’t eat much so that’s okay, but they tasted amazing! We will be back!
What you can expect
As the sun goes down on the Greta Barrier Reef, enter into an underwater paradise at Cairns Aquarium. This After Drak Experience will give you access to the aquarium after all the guests have left, giving you a more intimate experience. Kicking off around 6 pm, this exclusive tour will take you through the aquarium led by a knowledgeable wildlife educator, giving you all the fascinating facts about these incredible underwater creatures.
Upon completion of the tour, you’ll be led into the wonderful aquatic themed restaurant where you'll be seated for a delectable two-course dinner. Fun, educational and simply magical, this experience is the perfect night out for a family in Cairns!

- Exclusive after-hours entry to Cairns Aquarium.
- 1.5 hour guided twilight tour through 10 tropical ecosystems, from the mountains, to the Great Barrier Reef, to the Coral Sea.
- Learn about the region’s nocturnal animals and their behaviours as they move about in darkness
- Come face to face with the Coral Sea’s largest night time predators — sharks, rays, groupers, and more!

- If you wish for your infant to have a meal you will need to book a child fare.

- General Admission Bookings: Any cancellations requested more than 48 hours prior to the visit date will be refunded. Any cancellations requested within 48 hours, regardless of the booking date, will incur 100% cancellation fees or we can amend the date of the booking/provide a gift card to the booking value amount.
- All other bookings: For products other than General Admission, if customers fail to arrive, or do not provide prior notice of cancellation within 48 hours, a cancellation fee of 100% will be charged. Rebooking the same product experience to another time or day may be provided at the discretion of Cairns Aquarium.

Fabulous aquarium!
A really great look at the entire Queensland ecosystem, from freshwater to the Coral Sea! The guide was knowledgeable and passionate. She conveyed the science in a way that was scientifically accurate but not too weighty and jargon laden. My only disappointment was that there was not more information about nocturnal activities. Food at the restaurant is good quality too.
Best night out
Cameron was so knowledgeable he even taught me a few new facts about the marine life on the Great Barrier Reef and I'm a local and thought I knew it all. The dinner was scrumptious and Brendan our waiter made the night a memorable one.
