What you can expect
After a pickup from your Darwin accommodation, you'll make your way to the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, a haven for a wide range of local and migratory birds and other wildlife including the largest population of snakes within the country. Enjoy plenty of time to capture photos of the sacred lotus and native lilies here before heading to the 'Windows on the Wetlands' Visitor Centre. Learn about the ecological processes that occur in the wetlands and its seasonal changes through interactive displays and admire expansive views of the Adelaide River floodplains from the viewing deck. Then onto the highlight of the day - a 2.5-hour lunch cruise along the Corroboree Billabong, just 90 minutes from Darwin.
The billabong is home to a large abundance of birdlife boasting all colours of the spectrum, including white-bellied sea eagles, kingfishers, jacanas, herons, honeyeaters, flycatchers and more, as well as the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world.
