What you can expect
Raft the Barron River on a white water adventure that starts with return bus transfers from your Port Douglas accommodation. Once you reach the river, your professional guides walk you through all the training and safety equipment you need, so first timers and seasoned paddlers can dive in with confidence.
Then it is time for the main event, one hour and 30 minutes to two hours of Grade two to three rapids winding through lush tropical rainforest. Dig in your paddle as the raft surges over the white water, spins past the rocks and drifts along the calmer stretches where you can catch your breath and soak up the greenery pressing in on both banks. With transfers, gear and expert guidance all sorted, all you need to bring is a change of clothes and a sense of adventure.
