Join a Queensland Country beginner blacksmith workshop and forge your own Celtic-style knife as you step into the world of traditional blacksmithing. Spend half a day turning a piece of raw steel into your own handcrafted creation in a beginner-friendly workshop, giving you the chance to work at the forge, swing a hammer and learn age-old techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment. With plenty of hands-on action and personalised guidance throughout the session, you'll gain practical skills while creating something you can proudly call your own.
Master the fundamentals of forging as you heat, shape, grind and sharpen your blade before adding a personalised handle to complete your knife. All tools, safety equipment and materials are supplied, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm. Enjoy a fun and rewarding experience that's perfect for individuals, couples, families with older children, or anyone looking for a unique Queensland Country adventure. - All tools and materials
- Safety gear, including apron, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection
- Use of traditional blacksmithing equipment and forge
- One-on-one guidance from an experienced blacksmith
- Step-by-step instruction on forging, shaping, and finishing a Celtic-style knife
- Personal handcrafted Celtic knife to take home
- Cold water, tea, coffee and ice blocks
- Group or solo photo opportunities with your finished knife
- Transportation to the workshop
- Meals other than refreshments
- Available seven days a week.
- This experience is approximately five to six hours in duration.
