Step aboard a heritage steam train for a nine hour return journey from Toowoomba to Pittsworth, travelling behind a magnificent steam locomotive to celebrate 150 years of one of the Darling Downs' proudest country towns. As the carriages roll out through the countryside, you will arrive in style at a town first settled in the 1870s, when Pittsworth grew from a small farming settlement into an important rural service centre shaped by community, innovation and country hospitality.
On arrival, the town comes alive with its sesquicentennial celebrations, from historical displays and live entertainment to community exhibits, the official Time Capsule Ceremony and the Grand Street Parade. Wander vintage vehicle displays and market stalls, soak up the family friendly activities centred around Centenary Park and the historic Town Hall precinct, and reconnect this proud town with its railway heritage. With seats strictly limited for this once in a generation event, it is a wonderful way to step back in time and be part of a milestone moment.
