Paddle the Barron River on a rafting adventure just outside Cairns, tackling Grade two to three rapids as they tumble through lush tropical rainforest. Return bus transfers get you to the river, where your professional guides run through all the training and technique you need before you push off. From there it is one hour and 30 minutes to two hours on the water, reading the current, digging in through the rapids and drifting the calmer stretches in between.Rainforest crowds both banks the whole way, so keep an eye out for the greenery and wildlife framing the gorge as you paddle. Every raft is led by an experienced guide who calls the lines and keeps the energy up, so first timers and seasoned rafters alike can throw themselves in with confidence.
