Great staff, seamless experience
Smooth on boarding and knowledgeable staff. Full of knowledge and made the trip an ease. Loved the big fish feeding at the end
Great experience
Last year we had visited Fitzroy island, this year we visited Green island. Green island is much better than Fitzory. In addition, the Big Cat was great too.
Enjoy a scenic cruise to the popular Green Island and spend hours exploring the beautiful coral cay with a full day cruise from Cairns departing at 9am. On board the 'Big Cat', a luxury 35-metre catamaran, you'll be comfortably transported to the island to enjoy a total of 5 hours exploring the island and enjoying some of its best attractions.
With optional complimentary snorkelling equipment hire or a glass bottom boat tour, you'll be able to see the beautiful reef from either the water or from the dry and comfortable seat of the glass bottom boat. While on green island you can also enjoy the various walking trails through the rainforest to see the other side of this tropical paradise.
Tours return back to Cairns by 5pm and the journey takes around 45 minutes to an hour depending on the weather conditions.

Could have been better, will choose a different service next time.
We have been to green island before on many different services, this service was heavily over booked could not even get a seat especially on the way back, the dive gear we hired was terrible, old broken, wet and quite dirty suits and we had to rehire on the island just to get the kids in the water after walking back for replacements to the end of the dock furthest point more than once! The hire required cash deposit which we were not aware of, which they did make an exemption but caused a bit of stress and our benefits did not transfer to the boat sheets, such as the complimentary extras, again we managed to sort it out but it was annoying and seemed disorganised. Overall the reef was quite damaged off of the island compared to other years we have been there but still good turtle sightings and did see a reef shark which was a highlight ! Bring your lunch the cafes are now very very expensive and poorly stocked, which is a shame for the island because we would have spent money on milkshakes, stinger suits and masks etc if we had the option given the hire quality. The fish feeding at the end highlighted some better snorkelling spots but with the pontoon closed for servicing it was difficult to find good spots when in the water with the kids, maybe a tour on top would have been a better experience but given we knew our way around we didn't opt for this but now wish we had as off the beach wasn't that amazing.
