Wonderful day on the reef with a fantastic crew.
Green Island & Great Barrier Reef snorkeling tour onboard the Oceanfree Sailing boat out to the reef was a great day. We anchored out from Green Island where we snorkelled with colourful fish and black tipped reef sharks. Lunch onboard - delicious After lunch, we jumped on a zodiac and took the 10 trip to Green Island, walked around, splashed in the water and lay under trees. We could stay for 30 minutes or 1&1/2 hours, we only stayed 30 minutes, deciding to head back to swim off the boat again instead. The captain did a fish feeding and talk before departing back for the day. This was a definite highlight with large black fish and 3 black tipped reef sharks. The crew were friendly, helpful and lighthearted making for an awesome day. I highly recommend this trip.
Amazing experience on Great Barrier Reef with Ocean Free❤️
Weather was terrible, but the skipper and crew made it a memorable day. Saw everything we wanted to, Turtles, sharks and so many fish . Nothing was too much trouble, lunch was great. Would certainly do it again. Thanks Ocean Free Awesome experience ❤️
What you can expect
Explore the beautiful Green Island off the coast of Cairns with a full day sailing cruise and snorkel tour! Visiting some of the Great Barrier Reef's most popular and most beautiful destinations, this full day tour will see you sailing, snorkelling and scuba diving as part of a small, personalised tour from Cairns with a focus on a better environment and fewer passenger numbers.
You'll be able to explore this stunning, world-famous region in a comfortable and uncrowded tour. Catering for up to 25 guests on each cruise, this is one of the most intimate and personalised cruises on the reef. Taking you to the reef and an island, this is the only operator to do so while also offering the chance to sail around the waters.
All tours include all snorkelling equipment, an informative reef talk by a marine interpreter, a delicious and large smorgasbord lunch as well as tea, coffee, pastries and fresh fruit on board.
PLEASE NOTE: A compulsory $20pp Environmental Management Charge is payable on board the vessel.

- Ocean Free does not operate on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
- Guests come from many countries and many only have a small opportunity to visit the reef. The vessel will operate in all weather conditions (apart from gale force and severe weather warnings) and has extra procedures to make the day the best possible. If you are concerned about the weather, please visit www.bom.gov.au cairns coastal report - it will give you a 4 day forecast.10-20 knots is a normal good day. Date of travel can be changed subject to availability and also full refund if cancelling with minimum 24hrs notice. Our vessels are open air with good boat movement so less likely to suffer seasickness than some other closed vessels however, if prone to motion sickness we recommend taking travel sickness tablets 20 minutes before boarding the vessel.
- The supplier reserves the right to cancel the trip due to poor weather conditions or mechanical problems, or to use another vessel or select the sites used or on very rare occasions due to low numbers. If tour has been cancelled by the company a full refund will be given.

Awesome day out Sail and Snorkeling to Green Island
Spent the day on Ocean Free Sailing boat out to Green Island today. It was an awesome day, awesome crew and fantastic experience. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to bypass the crowds for a more unique sailing and snorkeling experience. Crew couldn’t be more helpful, snorkeling was great, food was great and will be back at some stage to do again. Thanks crew for looking after us and making a was day full of fun (even got to sail the boat for a while). Jeff & Kathy
